TESTIMONIALS

Our Whitikahu students love Life Education.

Life Education is a special educational setting that is facilitated by a trained and enthusiastic teacher.

We find our students really absorb the messages promoted in the life education programmes, that is they use the language being taught and they share the messages being promoted.

It is a true novelty.

Meaningful messages delivered by an educator that is passionate about the content.  Our students get exposure to meaningful and relevant health content.

It is an extremely valuable resource and health tool.  Our students love ‘Harold the Giraffe.’  His visits support our class programmes and provides all our learners with valuable curriculum, and life, information.

Excellent review from Pukete School
Review from St Kentigern Boys' School in Auckland

The topics are relevant to the children and enhance our health programme considerably

The topics change with new research and information and also current thinking. The fact that the teachers are able to choose from the list of topics helps them to find ones that are particularly helpful for their class.

The teachers are always full of energy and of a high calibre which contributes to the success of the programme. The Life Education truck visits are an important part of our school Health programme and the unique way in which topics are presented, compliments and supports our Health programme.

Many of our children have been helped by these visits and for some, it gets them talking about issues that may otherwise be unnoticed. I endorse Life Education as a quality programme for our students and would definitely recommend this service to other schools if they are not already involved."

Harold the Giraffe and two kids on a play ground

Many of our children have been helped by these visits and for some, it gets them talking about issues.

The topics are relevant to the children and enhance our health programme considerably.

Teachers are able to choose from a list of topics to help them to find ones that are particularly helpful for their class. Of course the programme wouldn’t work without high calibre, high energy teachers - and these we have had over the years.

The Life Education truck visits are an important part of our school Health programme and the unique way in which topics are presented, compliments and supports our Health programme.

I would recommend this service to other schools and also to sponsors.

Our thanks go out to the sponsors who make this all possible.

Recently we were visited by Steph Philburn and Harold in the Life Ed truck. Seniors covered topics on relationships, peer pressure, our identity and social influences. Our juniors learnt about friends, feelings and relationships.

Steph was a highly effective presenter and our students were fully engaged during their lessons. Classes were involved as individuals, pairs, small groups and as a whole class. Steph related very well to our mixed age group classes she was an animated and energetic facilitator.

Lessons were well organised, sequenced and skilfully delivered with the aid of audio visual material and of course Harold. Harold is always popular, even with our most senior year 8 students. Follow up material and activities were also worthwhile.

The Life Education Trust provides a very valuable support to our curriculum and we are delighted to have these worthwhile lessons on offer. We are very grateful to have the opportunity to access this wonderful resource. Often small rural schools miss out on things because of distance and small roll numbers so we are very pleased to have the Life Ed resource visit us.

In my opinion, the skills being taught through Life Ed's programmes, are crucial to the health and wellbeing of today's tamariki.

Waipa School was fortunate to receive a visit from the Life Education Trust in Term 4 this year.

Prior to the visit, Stephanie clearly communicated with the school re topic choice and timetabling. Stephanie was always positive and professional in her approach towards our staff and students and was also very flexible and happy to adjust her timetable when unplanned events cropped up.

The sessions Stephanie taught, covered a range of topics and activities, which all related to best health, wellbeing and life practices.

The lessons our students participated in, were well organised and well delivered.

Steph's positive manner and respect for our tamariki, along with the relevant content, the excellent activities and the hi-tech resources, all ensured our students were highly engaged and keen to participate.

Review from Waipa School in Ngaruawahia

Life Ed is an excellent, valued and extremely beneficial community resource, one which we thoroughly hope will continue to be made available to all NZ schools in the future.

We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in Life Ed this year and we are already looking forward to next year's visit. The letters and cards our students wrote for Steph, give a good indication of the learning and big ideas they gained from their sessions.

Thank you for your support of the Life Education Trust. The programmes being provided make a real difference!"
